  • mPower Community Navigator Service (NHS Western Isles)
    Social Prescribing Service
    Connecting individuals to local activities and services as part of personalised Health and Wellbeing Plan and supported by a Community Navigator.
    Digital Health Interventions
    Assistance with technology supporting an individuals health and wellbeing e.g. videocalling for health appointments, health apps and remote health monitoring.

  • Advocacy Western Isles – Uist and Barra
    Independent Advocacy is about making sure the views and opinions of individuals are valued and respected and that they are treated as individuals and valued members of society. A free, confidential service. Priority is given to those with mental health issues, people with a learning disability, the elderly and children & young people, but also offer generic advocacy support. 

  • Substance Misuse Partnership Benbecula
    We provide support services in the field of substance use throughout the Scottish islands of Uist and Barra by working in partnership with service users, other service providers and statutory as well as voluntary sector organisations. Our work includes the provision and development of treatment, counselling, support and aftercare arrangements to substance users. 
    Services Offered: Adult Alcohol Treatment, Adult Drug Treatment; Blood Borne Viruses (HIV HepC Hepatitis), Harm Reduction, Naloxone Provider 

  • NHS Western Isles CAMHS – Balivanich
    CAMHS stands for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. The CAMHS team sees children and young people and their families with a wide range of difficulties. Our aim is always to help children and young people and their families understand about the factors that lead to mental health problems and help make sure that these factors do not lead to further difficulties. 

  • Community Psychiatric Nursing Team
    The Community Psychiatric Nursing (CPN) team organises and coordinates your care if you receive community-based mental health care (i.e. care outside of hospital). This includes carrying out mental health assessments, treatment and care. You are normally referred to a CPN if you have complex mental health problems and need more specialist help than a GP can offer. 
    In emergencies There is always a member of staff available out with normal working hours and they can be contacted through NHS24, freephone 111.

  • Western Isles Women’s Aid Women’s Resource Centre
    Support, counselling, refuge and legal advice for women and children who have experienced domestic abuse. Drop in, outreach and advocacy services available.
